How to Prepare Your Roof for Texas Storm Season 2025

2025 Storm Season: Are You Ready?

Every year, North Texas experiences 50-80 days of severe thunderstorm potential. The question isn't whether storms will come — it's whether your roof is ready when they do.

Pre-Season Preparation (Do This in February-March)

1. Schedule a Professional Inspection

Before storm season kicks off, have a professional assess your roof's condition. We'll identify vulnerable areas that could fail under storm stress:

    Before you need to file a claim, understand:

  • Your deductible amount
  • Whether your policy covers replacement cost or actual cash value
  • Any filing deadlines
  • Your insurance company's preferred claims process

    • During Storm Season (March-June)

    After every severe storm:

  • Do a ground-level visual check of your roof
  • Check for dented gutters, broken screens, or damaged siding
  • Look in the attic for new water stains
  • Note the date and time of the storm
  • If you see damage, call a professional within 48 hours

    • Don't forget:

  • Take photos of any damage immediately
  • Don't attempt roof repairs yourself during storm season
  • Keep your roofer's number saved in your phone
